Killadangan House is now offering pioneering EAL work to guests during their stay at Killadangan. Guests can avail of half day one to one sessions or full day family/couples/group sessions.*

What is Equine Assisted Learning (EAL)?

EAL is an experiential learning approach, through activities in the presence of horses and a Facilitator, that promotes the development of life skills for educational, professional and personal goals. EAL sessions are suitable for all ages and riding experience is not necessary, as all exercises are carried out on the ground.

Why Horses?

The development of valuable skills becomes much easier within the presence of a 550k horse, who offers egoless and non judgmental reflections to the human. Clients learn their individual strengths and vulnerabilities. It also has positive effects on blood pressure, personal heart rate, increased beta-endorphin levels, decreased stress levels, reduced feelings of anger, tension and anxiety.


People receive the reflections the horses provide about their leadership assets and limitations, habitual thinking and patterns, in a much quicker, direct and non-judgmental way, than just working with a human coach, therapist or consultant. Thus enabling significant transformations in the way they manage their reactions and relate to others.
